The beginnings

Hey everyone, this is my first time blogging so bear with me. I have felt the need to create this blog for some time now and I am finally getting it done. I have tried to keep a journal for years now and I feel that I have done a good job of it now and then but something has been missing. I haven't had a personal insight journal, or a journal that simply shares a verse of scripture that touches me that day. My religion is who I am and i want to start living my religion more fully. I believe that taking a few minutes out of my day to share one or two verses of scripture that have touched my life that day and why will improve my relationship with my Father in Heaven. I am choosing to do this on a blog because I love to hear about how the Lord has blessed other peoples lives and I hope that others feel the same way. I invite anyone who might read my blog and feel impressed to share a scripture that has touched them to also do so. I am Mormon so I will share verses from The New Testament, The Old Testament, The Book of Mormon, The Pearl of Great Price, and The Doctrine and Covenants. It does not matter what church you go to, if you feel impressed to share a verse of scripture please do so. I believe we all need a little more of God in our Lives. Please also respect me as the author of this blog and understand that this blog is not designed to pressure anyone into my beliefs. I want this to be a safe place to share our love of our Eternal Father in Heaven.
I have titled this blog just a seed. The concept of faith in our savior being like a little seed is something that I have heard my whole life. I love this concept because it just makes sense. Seeds must be nurtured and properly cared for in order to grow. Seeds need water, sunlight, good soil, and weeds removed from around it in order to survive. We are the same in that we need nourishment (water/sunlight) of the soul. This can be found in the scriptures. We also need good soil. I see this as being a good foundation in which to plant our roots. If we put ourselves in a situation that has "soil" that lacks nutrients we won't survive. This is to say that we have to put ourselves into healthy living situation. Whether this refers to work, family, friends, housing depends on your own personal circumstance. The last thing is to have weeds removed from the soil to allow the seed to grow. I think weeds can be seen as metaphorical sins. If we remove them from our lives we can continue on the straight and narrow path back to heaven. If we do not remove them they will deter us like they do a plant. They will take away our ability to grow and move forward in life.
I hope that this blog will be seed for myself. I hope that by searching diligently in my scripture study to find a scripture that touches my life each day that my “seed” may grow stronger every day. With just one seed I know I can have faith and understanding in my Father in Heaven that will lead me back to him some day.  I’m sorry today’s post is such a rant but I needed to explain my reasoning for a post at this time. With that being said this is my scripture verse for the day:

February 24th,2013
Matthew 17: 20
“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place’ and it shall remove’ and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

With one seed of faith we can do all things. I have also known this fact for a long time but it is still difficult to do. One of the best ways that we can feed our seed of faith is to share our Testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ. This is hard for me to be but I know that it is so important. I am going to leave you all with a very short part of my testimony.-
I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that he is our savior, redeemer, friend, and our Brother. I know that he hung on the cross at Calvary that we might have the opportunity to repent of our sins so we may be with him again someday. I know with my heart that our Father in Heaven has an unending and everlasting love for us. He gave us his only begotten son that we might live again. He would and has done everything for us. I am so thankful to be a daughter of God in these latter days. I am grateful that I have opportunities such as this to share my testimony with others that I might strengthen my seed a little more. I am thankful for the family unit and for the blessings which I have received by being born into a family that loves and lives to serve our Father. I love my Father in Heaven so dearly and I am eternally grateful for this life which I have been given. I humbly say these things at this time in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
