Week Ending July 21st, 2014

This last week was great! we did not have as many lessons as we wanted to have... but we had some amazing miracles! We have a lady in our ward named Blanca that joined the church a year ago... her daughters are not members but come to church events every once and a while. Well last night we had dinner with her and when we texted to confirm, she told us that she had an investigator for us... We went over to her house very confused. when we walked in she "introduced us" to her daughter Tiffany and her best friend CJ. Her daughter's best friend surprised her that day by saying that she wants to change her life and come closer to God. She also told our member that she wants to BE BAPTIZED! We met with her and she is truly prepared and wants to change her life. She has gone through a lot of hard times and doesn't want to have to do that anymore. She wants God to be at the center of her life. And here is the other half of the miracle... our members daughter wants to come to church with her best friend! Member missionaries are the best things in the world and our example truly does touch peoples lives! Such an amazing miracle!
We also had another member call us and give us a referral for their good friend Mindy, that has been investigating the church for a while in Bellevue and wants to investigate where she lives... She lives in Mount lake terrace (different area) but apparently we have permission to teach her. We start teaching her on Wednesday and I am so excited. Members are SO important in this work... we cannot do it without them!
And our final member miracle.... There is a woman that the Elders found right before they were transferred named Melinda. Melinda joined the church just a few years ago. Her husband passed away and we remarried a WONDERFUL man named Doug. Melinda has been very sick and when she moved up here her records sort of fell through the cracks. The elders were able to find her and she was able to talk to her husband about the peace she felt at church and how she truly felt at home there. She was out of town this last week and we went to see Doug. He is an absolute sweetheart with every desire to do good. He wants to be close to God and wants to come to church. We sang I am a child of God for him and then we were on our way... We went back to see him and Melinda on Thursday, and he LOVES us! He told us that NO ONE has ever sung for him before and that really touched him and he could not say enough nice things about us to his wife when she came home. She talked to him about how she feels at home at church and he agreed and told us that they both want to be fully involved and they want to come closer to God! The Lord is truly preparing members to help us in our work!!!! Wether they have been members for a year, their whole lives, or even if they have not been able to come to church for a long time, God is still working on them!
I am very excited for this next week and I know that Sister Madsen is as well. We have been really trying to find new people to teach and the Lord has truly blessed our efforts through having the members give us people to teach! MIRACLES!!!!
We had zone sports day last Monday and we played dodge ball.... I have the coolest bruise on my knee ever! What can I say... I LOVE sliding on the floor ;) We had a lot of fun. We also got rain this week! Everyone's lawn have been turning soooo brown. It was nice to have the sun let up for a bit. It was a great week full of miracles and awesome member missionary work!
