Week Ending July 28th, 2014

This last week was great! We are not exactly sure... but by some miracle we had a member present lesson every day! Meaning a member of the Church came out with us... and believe me that IS a miracle! It was amazing to see that it was actually easy to get a member present lesson each day. It helped me to see that not only are members important but it we really focus on it they are more than willing to come to lessons with us. I also feel that those lessons are more productive then other lessons. With transfers and things missionaries are never constant but members are... which is great for long term fellowship. A lot of our lessons were with Part member families... So someone in the family is a member of the church and others are not. I love those lessons because I know faith helps family to stay strong. I see the benefits of it with the families we work with. :)

We have two girls that are investigating the church together and they are going to girls camp this week! Sister Madsen and I are slightly jealous and we wish we could go with them ha ha but that is not our calling. We secretly considered sneaking in their suitcases... THEY ARE GOING HORSE BACK RIDING!!!! But... that is in the white handbook as a no-no for missionaries... dang it! ha ha One of the girls camp to church yesterday and we got to go to young women's with her, and she really enjoyed it! We are hoping that her and her friend have a good time at camp, and that the young women really help welcome them. Fingers crossed. We know that Girls camp is an awesome place for people to feel the spirit and it will really help these two girls come closer to the Lord.
We met with our new investigator Mindy on Wednesday. She is an absolute sweetheart! She is in her thirties but VERY childlike. She is really innocent and has such a strong desire for people around her to be happy. We are excited to keep working with her. We ended up having a lot of phone conversations with her this last week about how God answers our prayers and how to seek revelation from him. She called us the next day was was so sweet... she kept telling us that she is recognizing how God speaks to her and she realized that he has been answering her prayers for a long time... before she even asked her questions to be exact. She is so sweet and wants to Come closer to God.
Friday BRYCE AND CANDICE GOT MARRIED! Thanks for including me in the day ha ha that was fun. I loved seeing my family in the pics!  So the last few days before the wedding it was down pouring here.... and I know that Oregon gets similar weather.. I was praying soooo hard that it would not rain... OR be muddy.... Friday morning I woke up to the most beautiful sunny day! and it wasn't terribly hot! I was so thankful that God answered my prayers and that Bryce and Candice could have a nice wedding day. It's the small things ;)
Saturday we had a Relief society activity that was "Christmas in July" themed. We had Christmas cookies and we made crafts for Christmas gifts.. seeing as missionaries have A. no money and B. no room in suitcases we went to help set up and such but we did not intend to craft... well one lady ended up ordering to many crafts to get done in her allotted time, so she asked us to help her! It was so much fun. we decorated tile coasters. We had two ladies come that we had tracted into a little while ago. We were able to give them a church tour and the LOVED the crafts. They were happy as could be ;)
Well that was my week.... I hope you all have a wonderful week... wherever you are, and know that I love you all!
Love always,
Sister Jenn Franzen
